Fundraisers & Events
Animals Fiji (operated by the West Charity Trust Society is currently the only veterinary or animal welfare organization in the Western and Northern Divisions and relies on donations to function as it receives zero government funding. Fundraisers and events help to supplement private donations to enable us to continue the important work that we do.
As a charity, fundraising is naturally at the forefront of our minds and efforts at all times. Like all charities, we face the usual challenges of how to continue to increase our resources and still ensure that we aren’t diverting the time and energy these activities take from providing the services that your contributions support.
Our annual Furball Fundraiser was again a great success raising FJ$50,000 in 2017. The Furball is our biggest activity and proceeds form a crucial part of the de-sexing budget ensuring we can continue to offer humane population control through spay and neuter surgeries.
The Furball is also our main social event and we really enjoy the opportunity to catch up with you outside of our clinics. We hope to see you all there on the 1st of October, 2018!
Other activities include our annual golf tournament; The annual Plantation Island Ambrose Tournament raised FJ $8,650 in 2017 and over $10,000 in 2018! It's an event enjoyed by all and we can't wait for the fun again in 2019. We will also continue to have a stall at the Savusavu cruise ship market and look to expand on this to other events where resources permit.
